The Meeting was held at the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council located at 104 Marietta Street, Suite 200 , Atlanta , GA 30303 . The meeting was called to order at 10:15 AM.
The minutes for the August 26, 2004 meeting were approved.
XAware Presentation :
Chris Peterson, Sr. Account Manager for XAware presented detailed information about the XAware Justice Integration Program. He presented a detailed powerpoint slide show which showed the features of the Justice Integration Middleware program. He told the group that he thought an estimated amount to install and start the project with the first data exchange would cost about $50,000. He said that XAware would be willing to do a “proof of concept” before charging for their time or installation to show that the software will work. The majority of the meeting was spent on discussing the details of the XAware system and Mr. Peterson answered numerous questions regarding the program.
Project Grant Application For Funding :
Rick Malone said that the CJCC Funds were approved and the Grant start date will be October 10, 2004 . CJCC funds were $75,000 and the Prosecuting Attorney's Council and the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council will supply the $25,000 cash match.
Magistrate Court Software Upgrade Status :
Rick Malone told Judge Pfieffer that he should go ahead with the IKON software implementation now that the grant has been approved.
Data Exchange Groups:
The members decided to try and meet every Friday at the Law Enforcement Training facility in Cordele to work on their Jiem data exchange model. Other members outside of the Cordele area such as PAC and GPD SC will teleconference into the meetings if they are available to assist in the Jiem modeling process.
Future Meeting :
The next meeting will be held at the Prosecuting Attorney Council's Macon office on November 5, 2004 at 10:00am .
